Fifteen years inside Pakistan's online retail industry — as an operator first, and an industry figure second.
Omer Mubeen began working in Pakistan's online retail industry in 2010, at a point when eCommerce in the country was still an experiment rather than a channel. Over the following fifteen years he held senior operating roles — Head of eCommerce, GM eCommerce and equivalent — across more than ten recognised national brands, among them Edenrobe, Bachaa Party, BeyondEast, Master Group, MINISO Pakistan (ToSharing), TCS E-Com, Cheezmall, Al Rahim Textiles, Kapray and 24Hours.pk.
That work was operational rather than advisory. It involved launching brands with no existing online presence, re-platforming stores that had outgrown their systems, building performance-marketing engines from scratch, restructuring paid media and analytics, rebuilding customer experience, and hiring and leading the in-house teams that carried the day-to-day execution behind nine-figure online revenues. On one launch, BeyondEast, the online business went from zero to PKR 100 million or more in revenue within the first three months.
Pakistan's eCommerce market has a specific operating character that separates it from card-first markets: the majority of orders are placed on cash on delivery. That single fact changes the entire economics of a store — acquisition cost has to be recovered against a delivery that may never be accepted, returns and return-to-origin (RTO) sit at levels that would be considered a crisis elsewhere, working capital is tied up in stock that is in transit rather than sold, and attribution never closes cleanly. Much of Omer's work concentrates on this problem, and on the logistics, payments, address-quality and trust behaviours that drive it. He is the founder of SmartReturns, a Shopify application built specifically for COD risk intelligence and RTO reduction.
Alongside the operating work, he built a group business. Deployers, where he is Group CEO and Founder, operates across technology, performance marketing, digital transformation and SME enablement. Its training arm, Deployers School, has trained more than 80,000 digital professionals, making it one of the largest practical digital-skills programmes in the country. DeLogics, which he founded, is a Shopify development and eCommerce growth agency delivering store builds, migrations, performance marketing and growth programmes for Pakistani and international brands.
He is the founder of the Pakistan eCommerce Association (PEA) and serves as its Chairman. The association brings together more than 12,000 eCommerce businesses and over 200,000 SMEs into a single advocacy platform representing an industry valued at more than USD 7 billion, and leads policy representations to the Government of Pakistan on taxation, cash on delivery, digital payments and international competitiveness.
He also founded the Global Digital Awards, Pakistan's first international recognition platform for digital innovation and entrepreneurship, and serves as a Strategic Partner to the Prime Minister's Youth Programme on national digital-empowerment and entrepreneurship initiatives. He co-hosts Ecommerce Baithak, a podcast on Pakistani eCommerce, with Haider Ahmed Qazi, President of the PEA.
Internationally, he has led Pakistani delegations and appeared on stage at Tech Week Asia in Singapore, worked as a strategic partner to DMEXCO Asia and Ecommerce Expo London, and holds a partnership with CloserStill Media running through 2027 across the Asia-Pacific commerce programme. Through DeLogics and the PEA he maintains working relationships in Singapore, the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, Qatar and the UAE.
His stated mission is to build global bridges for Pakistani commerce, support young entrepreneurs, and accelerate the country's digital transformation — one business at a time.
